They are a price comparison service. They don't sell contracts themselves. They just pass you on to the retailer. The deal is the same whether you go through them, via any other affiliate site or direct to the retailer. So, yes...you could just use them for information purposes only and still get the same deal.

Of course, if you go to the retailer's website via any cashback site, while the deal offered by the retailer is exactly the same, the cashback site offers to pay you a bit more on top out of the referral commission that they receive from the retailer.

I'm guessing that's what you were alluding to with your question...
