  • went to gp. I didn't mention anything about pregnancy. The gp asked when my last period was, and I had to say I wasn't 100% sure. She felt my tummy, and advised that it may go away, but should do a water test incase I have an infection. So, not much futher forward as yet really. Gonna do a water test and a pregnancy test.

    Hi

I have been reading this thread with interest! I was sterilised during the c section of my fourth child and believe that when sterilisation is carried out at this point it may not be as successful as having the op done at other times! I was just wondering when you had your op done? My mom conceived after being sterilised, so this is always at the back of my mind, all be it thirty odd years ago!

Hope you get your mind put at rest soon.

I got a tubal tie operation as a routine op. Wasn't after a previous pregnancy or anything.
I have read that if the clip method was used, the clips can slip, or the surgeon may have placed the clips in the wrong place. I believe that older methods, such as physically tying the tubes or cutting them, the tubes can join back together again.
I wasn't sure whether all the things I'd read were actually true, and that was one of the reasons I deceided to start this thread. Wanted to hear from people who'd experienced pregnancy after a sterilization. I am aware that vascetomies ain't 100% fool proof either.

To be honest tho', I'm seriously hoping for a positive result, as I wanting a reversal anyway.
