Tubal tie in early 2004, can pregnacy occur??

Hey just wondered if anyone out there has gotten pregnant after having a tubal tie?
I had a tubal tie in January 2004. I've been having a lot of weird feelings in my tummy, feeling nauseous, tender bust and my tummy feels bloated and swolen.
Just wanted to know other ladies experiences before I visit my gp.

    Hi
Yes it is possible to get pregnant. The only form of contraception that is 100% safe is celibacy or hysterectomy.

go and see your GP!.I was advised to do that by my obstetrician if i ever thought i was pregnant after my sterilisation because of possible complications.
Every day above ground is a good one ;)

Yes - a friend conceived and miscarried twice after a tubal. You need to see your doctor to rule out things like ectopic pregnancy which has a much higher chance of occurring after a tubal.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
  • yes, I'm going try and see my GP tomorrrow.
Don't think I'm having an ectopic. I have no pain or bleeding, just feel un-comfortable in the tummy, and it's worse on an evening.
Thanks for the replies. I just need to know that I'm not imagining things.

    Have you done a test?

a couple of weeks ago yes, and it was negative. But these tests apparently need a high hormone level before they detect a pregnancy.

My friend took 3 tests, all positive. She had to go for a scan. The nurse couldn't see anything on the scan, so did a pregnancy test and it showed negative. Well odd.

    Congrats spendless :)

Yes nothing is 100% is it.

I'll visit the gp to be on the safe side I think. Just feel abit silly going in saying I think I might be pregnant, and in the same breath saying however I had a tubal tie 2 years ago.

Maybe, but I'm only 34, + if my mother is anything to go by, I'll hit menopause in my early 50's ;)
