New boiler issues

I would have SOGA will depend on whether the original OP brought himself or though his fitter. If was though the fitter then its his problem if the OP brought then its up to who ever he brought it off surely.0

if i owned a boiler company and you buy a new boiler from me (that i have made) and when it breaks down you get some unknown to remove the cover and fiddle about inside it without my permission you have just completely voided your manufacturers warranty, it matters not to me who installed it only that it was installed correctly0

If its has nothing to do with the installer (and his workmanship) surely then he or you should be getting in touch with the manufacturer for them to sort it out ?0

Thanks for all the replies. It was bought through the fitter. It was him who came out and gave an option of boilers he recommended and I simply paid for the boiler along with fitting to him direct. The first reponse was absolutely correct the manufacturer and fitter have both imply blamed each other but anyway he's fixed it and only charged £25 this time so I'm not too bothered this time ut if it appens again I'll definately be wanting some sort of recompence in the form of free fixing of it!0

If however the boiler has failed as a result of poor or defective installation, i.e poor water quality due to failure to system cleanse and/or use of corrosive fluxes, then its the installer who carries the can.
No, no, no,
The only contract the OP has is with the fitter and 6 months in it is the fitters responsibility to fix it free under SOG as it obviously not of satisfactory quality.
If it’s a boiler fault it might well be that the fitter can get the boiler manufacturer to sort it or if it’s an installation fault then the fitter will have to carry the can himself but either way it’s the fitters problem & responsibility

is a guide for traders and covers most of what you need to know as a consumer, in this case particularly the bit about installation on p19………..There is a poster here who a little while ago announced that any boiler fault, within the first six years of ownership, must be fixed by the installer FOC under the SOGA. He is wrong..
I suppose strictly speaking there might be a liability under SOG if the owner could convince a court that it had failed in an unreasonably short time and due to a manufacturing or installation fault and therefore failed the “satisfactory quality” and/or “reasonable durability” test0 -
Can the OP tell us what the fault was and why the boiler manufs intimated that it was an install issue please??also make n model..taFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
