Today i phoned payplan. They were so nice.....i cried lol. They are phoning me back on Friday where i have to give them all my info, and then they will work out my dmp and approach my creditors. Feel better just for calling them. I look forward to the day when i can answer my phone, and not worry when someone knocks on the door. I had a man knock at my door the other month, but i ignored it (legs all wobbly, hiding behind my curtain) He was out there for a long time talking on his phone. I finally plucked up the courage and thought I need to face things,...I opened the door and asked if he was looking for me......He said no......turns out he only knocked on my door cos he was looking for my neighbour.... I should have dealt with my debts then when i was feeling brave.....but sad to say i just crawled back under the sink!...lol. So today is a good step0

I'm glad you're feeling better after opening the mail! Well done for that and the Xmas job. I hope the phone interview goes well too.
Good luck with it all.

Remember that some places use short-term contracts to assess workers for permanent roles - I worked for Homebase (oh dear god, the green dungarees were hideous) for six weeks, and made a point of letting the HR person and a couple of department managers know that I wanted a permanent role (part-time only, but ongoing). Worked there for two years.
Good luck and well done, you are obviously so much stronger than you give yourself credit for!

Hi Spangles have been reading your thread and wanted to say I think you are brave and resourceful, well done for getting the job and opening the letters ( I used to open mine as if they were bombs about to go off and just the sound of the post landing on the mat used to make me feel sick!) You deserve the vodka! good luck and good wishes0

            Hi Bargain,
Thanks for your comments. The tesco job has to finish on the 1st Jan, they have told me that, and they dont recruit in Jan, but they will keep my details on file for 3 months. They asked if i mind what i do.......i said hey im shovelling s**t at the mo......i dont care what i do,....lol,...i just need to work.
Yellowduck, thank you.....If i was brave i would have tackled my debt before it reached this stage.....i kept hoping the dwp call would come so i would be in a position to sort my debts....but your comments are appreciated. This site has so many nice people on it!

How are you feeling about it all today, spangles, now that the vodka's worn off and you've had a sleep on it all?
Once you get everything organised you will probably want to post up a full SOA (statement of Affairs) for this eagle-eyed lot to cast their collective peepers over. You'll be amazed at how much you can shave off your outgoings, which means more towards paying off the debts.
Chin up. take it one day at a time
