No it isn't. Stock market investing involves buying into a business ( or a group of businesses ) in the expectation of sharing any profit. Yes, it is possible to lose money doing this but over time the stock market has returned far, far more than cash, as shown, among others, by the annual Barclay's study. Cash rarely even keeps up with inflation, btw, so any growth is illusory...The stock market is gambling0
