You can't always tell if the pre tensioner has fired, the car may of had flood damage or an electric fault which you cant see until you crash the car, by which time its too late
I dont know why you've brought the BER thing up in here, totally unrelated
here it is any way

Unrelated yes, but it worked! You didn't come back on the other thread ..
I'll check it out tomorrow when I have more time.
Meanwhile - we have obtained seat belts from breakers at good prices and they have been in mint condition. First choice would be to buy new of course.Genie

What do you think I mean???? Or are you being deliberately provocative? I know how you like to try and wind me up - I've had a busy week at work and haven't got the energy to bite. Sorry.Genie

A straight answer would have done.
I’m trying to work out that rational of buying second hand seatbelts that may have been involved in a collision.
Isn’t it similar to buying a second hand crash helmet that you don’t know the history of?
I guess if you use them in sex games then the safety aspect is different.;)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Simply pick from a car that has been rear ended and has no other front end damage, the belts would not have been used in that case.
Also in these days of seat belt pretensioners, if they are still intact you can be sure all is okI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Sorry, my mistake.
I thought this thread was about a drivers seatbelt the one that would most likely to have been worn in a collision.
I still don't see how you can claim there would be nothing to concern you with a belt worn in a rear end collision.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Then you don't understand the basics of physics.
Hit from the front your weight goes forwards, the seat belt restrains you by taking the load
Hit from behind your weight goes backwards, the seat restrains you by taking the load, clearer now???????????????????:rolleyes::rolleyes:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
