How do I find out if its HD ready please

Did it say HD ready on the box?

Hi dave, i bought it without box or instructions from a local guy

its a sony KL - 50 W2U

Projection tv is one, that is modern, but not plasma, its like a projector type surface - I prefer it to the shine of plasma, but they didnt really take off

If it doesn't have an HDMI socket, it's not officially HD ready, end of. Have a look round the back for connectors, a quick Google didn't get me very far. If you find a DVI, VGA or Component socket at the back, plug something into that (PC/XBox/PS3/DVD/Blu Ray player) and play with the resolutions and see what you can get. It's the kind of question you should be asking before buying though of course!
