Why not stop this campaign
A majority of your users DONT PAY BANK CHARGES but WILL have to if you keep on with this campaign.
I knew what I was signing up for - go overdrawn (over agreed limit) and I would pay for it!
I've paid once - I made a mistake with my ballance - But unlike most I ADMIT it was my fault.
BUT just look at the alternative - Do you want the bank to bounce any payment that takes you 'just a bit' over your limit ---They used to.
Do you want to pay even if you dont go over your limit - just to cover the people who do??? I Dont
If you use a service you have to pay for it , and remember if you dont go overdrawn you dont pay.
if you use a service you have to pay for it? Hmm lets see using an ATM for cash Withdrawal? you are using a service but you dont want to pay for it?0 -
The ruling of the Supreme Court was that the OFT cannot challenge the fairness of unauthorised overdrafts.
But which organization can challenge the fairness of overdraft charges? There must be a organization able to challenge it. Maybe the Bank of England? or the Queen? or the Prime Minister? Does anyone know which organization?
Thank you,

so people who genuine make a mistake of 1p should pay for your bank card then?
I do wish people would stop referrencing those who have been charged a fortune for the sake of 1p; they don't exist.if you use a service you have to pay for it? Hmm lets see using an ATM for cash Withdrawal? you are using a service but you dont want to pay for it?
I pay for all my banking with the profit the bank makes on my balance and savings.
Of the 54 million current bank accounts held in the UK over half charge a fee.0 -

I cannot believe that the Judges who formed this decision could be fair and impartial considering that it is doubtless that many, if not all of them are shareholders in the banks. As the Government put the OFT in place to oversee and control the finacial affairs of this country their powers and decisions should not be overthrown by any Judge or court. All this has done for me is prove that the Judges are above and beyond the laws of this country and have thumbed their noses at the Government. If the banks did not believe they were wrong in principle why did they make so many payouts rather than take it to court? The whole process stinks of corruption between the banks and the Juduciary. The government should step in and force the issue through or prove again they are lame ducks!0

Sorry... but the type of customer who is upset about bank charges, is generally the type of customer banks aren't too bothered about losing...
you are a complete idiot and probably work for HSBC.
This campaign isnt for people that can afford to have unfair fees taken from their account. you rich smug little gimp. i hope you loose your job and see how long you can hold out with the bank charging you day after day for all your bills. Jog on.
:money::T and fair play to lewis for keeping the morale up.0 -
If people can't even be bothered to check their own bank accounts it's unlikely that they will make the effort march to London
And you seem to be forgetting the fact that 80% of current account holders are not affected by this ruling.
I would go further and say that 80% of current account holders are affected positively by this ruling as banks don't need to introduce current account charging to cover the costs of unfairly re-imbursing people who have mis-managed (to be polite) their finances. Surely on the whole an 80% 'win-rate' is a good thing?0 -
Thanks for this. I have a question which no one appears to have asked. Do any of their `Lordships' who gave this judgement in the Supreme Court ( or indeed any of their family members) have shares or other interests in any of the Banks ?0

So , whats the difference between clause 5 and clause 6? and do any of us know which we applied for?0
