I asked this a while ago as I wanted a driving experience for the missus, the concenus on here and pistonheads was don't bother, as most only give you 15mins driving time.
She is getting a spa day instead.0 -

I know what you mean, i've done quite alot of research last night and you don't seem to get much time actually driving the cars. I'm not sure my partner would appreciate a spa day though!

One stood out but It was too far me to go and that was a Caterham day, where you literally had 6 hours in a car, It was the best I could find, but my missus hates Caterhams so no use to me. I will try and dig out the info for you.0

Probably the most real track time per £. However not a cheap option.
Other thoughts are find out what he wants out of it:
If its an experience in a fast car you are going to get very little track time per £. But the experience is only really about putting your footdown in a straight line. I.e. noise and acceleration. There's not many people who could hop in a ferrari/r8/911/lambo etc and get anywhere near to its limits round a corner with out binning it.
If its about learning how to drive fast etc its much better value in my opinion to go for something like a a "day in a clio, lotus, caterham" as you'll probably get the adrenaline pumping a lot more from having to maximise your skill and maybe if your half decent the cars ability. + You'll get a lot more time in the car for your money.0 -
Driveme.net do one at Seighford near Stafford. I bought it for my boyfriend it was 'ok', quite a bit of hanging around and not alot of time in the Aston Martin.0

I had a brilliant time with drivers dream days, I had done a lot of reading up and knew what to expect, its true you don't get much track time and there is a bit of waiting around involved. I have to say though I felt (contrary to a lot of the reports I had read online) that it was worth the money to drive a car that I have only ever dreamed of driving.
I went not expecting much and was terrified that my particular car might break down before my turn or something, but I can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences ever. (may have been made even better by the fact that you driving is scored out of 40 and after chatting to a lot of the guys also doing experiences I had the highest score, oh and I overtook one of them - I'm female BTW)
One tip though certainly with drivers dream days DO NOT loose your paperwork or try to change the day or time, as they WILL charge you an arm and a leg. I lost one of the crucial pieces of paper and when I found out how much they wanted to charge for a replacement I turn the house upside down and found it.
