Mobile Contract & Cashback Advice??

I'm looking for a new mobile contract for the SE Aino. I've done a fair bit of research and the best tariffs seem to be with One Stop Phone Shop and Mobiles.co.uk, particularly when you take into account cashback.

But having read some of the threads on this forum I'm a bit wary of the whole cashback thing and the general level of customer service - esp from mobiles.co.uk. Have people managed to claim redemption cashback successfully?? Would I be better off going for the instant cashback option??

Cheers

I have claimed from Dial-a-phone sucessfully but you have to follow the terms very carefully. You should send in the claims ontime (1-2 month period) and from the correct bill and finally by recorded delivery to ensure it arrived.
You should also not modify your tariff or it may invalidate it.

Basically if you are dubious, its too must hassle, or you cant afford a contract without cashback don't do it.
Free Gifts when brought or automatic cashback may suit you better.

Personally after trouble with dial-a-phone misselling i buy directly from the operators now instead.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

You can search by provider, phone, minuttes, texts etc with this, but make sure to research the co before taking anything out:

  • I've also had a bad experience with mobile phone 'middle men' in the past which is another reason I'm wary of going that way again.

Thanks for the links - will check em out

If you mobilejunkies guide to cashback then it explains the risks etc, the way i see it is that i need a mobile contract and if i can get cashback then bonus! I too lost out to TMO going bust but still had the phone, service (mins and texts) at the end of the day, so ce la vie!

Just make sure you read, understand and adhere to the T&C's and if in doubt post here and i'm sure people will assist. I would kick myself if missed cashback through my own fault!

Ps: There are certain firms that are not good but if you read/search threads here they are not too difficult to spot!
