Is there a Park & Ride in Leeds?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking at a day trip to Leeds for some Christmas shopping, but ‘cheap’ day returns on the train are coming out at £50 each – and this is only from Teesside! So obviously it’ll be a lot cheaper to drive down if we can but I will only do so if there’s a Park & Ride – Googling is not helping me and according to these forums, there was not one in 2006 ... does anyone know if a fantastic, cheap, efficient and regular Park & Ride has been built in Leeds since then?
I’m not hopeful but thanks in advance for any info!

Saturday only....but free!0 -
Just as easy to go to one of the railway stations close to the centre and park up there - Garforth, East Garforth, Crossgates are on the York line and have regular services to Leeds.
A day return on the train will only be a couple of quid.0 -
There is no park & ride service for Leeds. There are lots of parking areas see the link below. Beware of the Leeds inner loop, it confuses the locals as well. Don't leave any valuables on display in your car.

I'm not aware of any parking at Crossgates, and it does require you to drive into the city a little. From what I've seen of Garforth it does have a decent car park.
But in any case, Leeds City centre isn't fantastically hard to drive into and there is parking in the city centre.
Try the new A63 road off the M1 to get in (it's the junction off the M1 which was closed for years but it's now open!)0 -
I use the one at the back of Yorkshire Television studios myself and it's brill and totally free. Starts about 9.30 am and it's a 5 minute ride into and back out of town. Yes there is parking in Leeds city centre but it's mainly orrendously expensive. You used to be able to park near the old bus station where the chinese supermarkets are all day saturday for £3 I think but that might have changed. best to use the park and ride - the one above is accessed via A65 and then turn up the side of Yorkshire television and it's situated there between kirkstall road (A65) and burley road (don't know road number)0

Thanks very much for the info everyone - Mel, I think this may be the same one that Miro posted the link to..?
Mark, I realise there's parking but from what I've heard it is very expensive and I was also worried that it might be quite limited - we're obviously travelling a fair bit and t this time of year I imagine car parks would be full pretty early on a Saturday.
Will look into these options, thanks again

Well, that's not true. There is no park & ride service for Leeds.
There's a park and ride at Moor Allerton, next to the school.
See near the bottom of this page

I'd check your train fares if I were you - a cheap day return Middlesbrough/Leeds is £25.70 a head, so your £50 odd must have been for 2
You may be able to get cheap advance singles for slightly less (from £8.50 a head each way) - but they would commit you to particular trains whereas the cheap day return is (on a Saturday) any train.0
