Have I barked at you PAL?
No.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Does anyone actually have anything worth saying, from either side of the fence?
Whilst everyone is aware of the decision in yesterdays judgement and yes, it was disappointing, it is very much game on. It is not over yet.
I suggest you do a search around the various sites to equip yourself with the latest developments, rather than expect to be spoon fed. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.
You come here for advice, help and support- thats what I and like minded others will try to do.0 -
Do I have to reiterate to you once again my previous question; "Are you going to answer my questions or not?"
No.

I agree that consumers should be protected from the flaws and errors in the Banking system, however on the same note we need to be more careful while managing our money.
If you live in a world where you "think" you are entitled to spend £50 on your debit card when in fact your available balance is only £49.50 then you have issues that need addressing - just generalising here mind.
If we say to our selves "I don't have the cleared funds for this purchase therefore I will choose not to place myself in a position where I will make myself go overdrawn" then we stand a better chance at avoiding fines from the bank.
The main issue, more so on this board, is that people think they have a right to money that is not theirs and act irresponsibly with their own and the banks money, so 90% of the time it is the customer of the bank who makes the error based on either their own selfishness and lack of responsibility or through a general error.
If in the case of the latter then a quick phone call or visit to the branch will sort that one out and you will find the bank will refund the charge as a gesture of good will - as long as you don't have a history of being stupid with money.
In the event that the bank or another company has made an error causing you to incur an automatic fee from the banks computer systems then this should be pursued until you are refunded and or compensated in some way.
But surely if you dont have enough money (for whatever reason), i.e. £49.50 to buy something for £50.00 then the transaction should just be declined, the same as if you were trying to pay with cash. Why should the bank either pay the extra £0.50p and charge you £39.00 for the privilege, or not pay it (if it was a DD/SO) and still charge you £39.00 ?
If you were paying by cash and didnt have enough, would the shopkeeper be able to charge you £39 when you got to the counter for attempting to buy a loaf of bread if you were 2p short? No, he would just not allow you to buy it.

Then why do you still keep it up then? Drop it.
PROLIANT, I suggest you give up. It is obvious that there are many many people on here (alongside the small group of people who have a genuine grievance) who are just trying it on. They have poorly managed their money, taken money they were not entitled to, and are now jumping on the bandwagon to see if they can make a quick buck.
Thank goodness common sense prevailed when the judgement was made yesterday.0 -
No one want to respond that what, I feel, were some valid suggestions for improvement for all?
The digs at each other are not required, nor constructive.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Sorry but you comments are not helpful, I dont want to be 'spoon fed'. What i do want is for people to stop handing out insults, yourself included.
Apologies if I have misunderstood and you were not trying to insult me.
I have been looking around the internet for the latest developments - thank you.
I just wish people would use this site for genuine debate rather than throwing school ground insults back and forth.0
