  • So far today I've banked a cheque, sent off my boarding cards and other info to claim reward miles from last weeks flights, put another £1 in my saving jar (for walking home rather than getting the bus!), received the prints of my holiday photos for which I used Photobox and got £5 cashback and got another £5 back with my Morrisons voucher after I put £30 of fuel in the car (which will take me to my Mum's this weekend).

I also brought my lunch into work today which will lead me to put another £1 in the savings jar tonight.

Hopefully that will help me save towards a new bathroom or a NY holiday!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

    Hi All
It's very cheerful on this thread today, despite the rubbish bank charges decision! Even though this decision has gone the wrong way (imho), I think Martin has done outstanding work here, and it has been one of the most important consumer campaigns of the decade. Salutes!

Anyway, from the wider world of finance to PBR's much smaller finances!
    Today:
    1. Flyladying
    2. Pick up my wedding dress from an eBayer - bought a long one so I could wear trainers underneath it - how moneysaving is that!
    3. Found camera charger last night, so have been listing everything I own on eBay.
    4. Have taken a bag of stuff to the charity shop, and unusually for me, didn't buy anything, despite seeing a book I love! I literally had to flip a coin in the middle of Oxfam, and it said "put it back"!
    5. Leftovers for lunch (and probably for dinner too!)

    Have a good day everyone!
    Overpay!

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

  • Hi All

I am new to all this but I have read all your posts with interest and I look forward to joining in.

I have £5000 debt on a credit card and I am currently surviving on job seekers benefit and staying with my dad (thankfully!). There is the chance of a job at the place where I used to work so I am waiting to hear about it with my fingers crossed!

In the meantime, I am attempting to adopt some good habits to help me get through this time and train me to be better with my money in the future.

    Sorry to ramble on!
