Shoes should be designed for all types of wear and tear and should last a darn sight longer than 10 weeks! Excellent if you have bank statement.

Last Xmas DH bought me a handbag and by March the plastic coating on the handles had split and looked awful! I didn't have areceipt but went back to Wallis and they were very good and swapped the bag for the full retail price and I now have the funkiest purple bag!

They may claim normal wear and tear like Wallis did, but they should hopefully accept that 10 weeks is no good for school shoes and allow you to exchange.

    Good Luck!

    Go Linda,go Linda......
I can't do much as DH in bed and don't want to wake him.....that's my excuse anyhow!!
Right girls, opinions please. In August, I paid £39 in Russell and Bromley for DD's school shoes to be worn from Sept. The elastic that holds the shoes on has almost worn/snapped through already. They are Start-rite so supposedly a good make. Do you think that I am expecting too much for them to last longer? Should I complain? I still have the box and bag,but not receipt-although thats prob on a bank statement if I look... I calculate they've been worn about 10 weeks...

I don't think you have anything to lose by taking all the above back to the store and expressing your extreme disappointment at the length of time these shoes have lasted, explain that they lasted a much shorter time than any of the other school shoes that she has had and you'd be very pleased if they could issue a new pair please!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.

Mmm just had wasabi peas from Graze. I'm loving that company so much!

Grr, there's two bedding sets I want in Argos, and I want a bathroom storage unit but my first two choices are out of stock. Do you think rattan would be ok in the bathroom or would it warp and go funny with the moisture?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I have a stack of small rattan drawers in my bathroom and they've been fine Ames, no warping or anything and they've been there since 2002!

i have rattan in my bathroom.... as long as it's ventilated and warm it would be fine ames.....

in fact i have rattan all over my house, i squirrel things away in the boxes and forget where !!!!!! is all the time!

My DC bounced so i didn't get my graze box this week....... ooops!

i liked my first one a lot, but my 2nd one impressed me less...

small choc peanuts (not yet opened)
small cajun seed mix (was ok, nothing special)
large flavoured raisins (raisins don't need to be the large box, raisins are raisins)
    large cranberries and other nuts...
    Half price

    the first one was

peanuts in japanese rice crackery coating thingies...
    smarties thingies
    honey roasted almonds
    macadamias and strawberries
    Free

I hope the next one is nice as it will be full price.....
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
