Good luck with youe exam on Friday. I did the exam just before Christmas and was so pleased with myself when I passed.

Just as an afterthought Learn direct near me are offerring vouchers or gifts for people completing courses this month.

It could be worth asking if they do this in your area.

    I agree

I would love to know how you got on , both with your exam and with the surprise trip.

Where was it ( jumping up and down like a kid) Tell us please - the suspense is dreadful!

I do not know if all learn direct centres do this but I got a clock in the post for completing a course which came as a real surprise ( till daughter pleaded for it and softie here gave it away - still at least it is appreciated.)

Hi all, and thanks for your kind enquiries.

Well, I passed the Level 1 City & Guilds online Numeracy exam. So that's OK! 40 multiple-choice questions with 40 possible marks, I don't get told what my marks were but I eventually get a letter and later still, a certificate.

Here's the link for our trip: http://!!!!!!.com/3u8hv

We went to France via Eurotunnel. Stayed for 4 nights at the Holiday Inn, Coquelles, Calais. Lovely hotel, comfortable journey - you just drive on to the train! We had a lovely time.

We got out each day and went in a different direction sightseeing. Barry had planned it all with minimal walking. And the good news is that I see another orthopaedic consultant on 16th February (the man who will actually do the revision of hip replacement) so hopefully the problem will get sorted before too long. And we both love France, there are other parts of it that we want to see, I've joined a class in Advanced French Conversation, and maybe by September/early October we will be able to get away again (we know of a chateau near the Bay of the Somme which would be lovely to stay, better when I can walk).

And we're just completing our wildlife garden - have just been out this afternoon to buy 2 rowan trees (sorbus aucuparia) for the birds, 10 ft tall, £25 each, the man will deliver them for us. We also put up a 'block of flats' for sparrows - just waiting to see whether they get used!

    Love to all

    Yoh Aunty Margaret!

Been dying to know how your trip went...or more to the point... where it went! Loved the photos...been to Calais several times so your pics brought back some nice memories. I remember seeing that tunnel digging thing when the tunnel first opened...someone had stuck a notice on it saying 'For Sale - One careful owner'...(in French of course!)

Hope you are not finding all the changes here too daunting and hope all goes well with the surgery and that you will soon be doing this.....
