Do you just need SIM cards for the plumbers to provide their own hardware? Or are you providing the hardware as well?
Are you trying to get "free" hardware? If you are happy to pay the full cost of the hardware upfront (cheapo Nokias could be £30 each say) then you'll only need a contract for the line rental etc and because you've already got the hardware the monthy rental will be less, so credit should be easier to obtain.
This is correct. If you can afford to put a couple of hundred pounds as deposit you will find some firms who hold their own accounts would take you on. Is part of the building of a relationship process. I would not bother with the big four, their credit system looks for a different type of contract.0 -
We're looking for a business line without broadband which is seemingly very tough to research, at least on comparison sites. I know BT do it but we want to avoid them if at all possible not least because of their customer service.
Has anyone got any suggestions please?0 -
I note that you say that you just want a telephone line without Broadband.
I would like to suggest however that you consider VOIP, if you have not done so already.
We have been using VOIP for a good many years and switched over totally to VOIP about a year ago (other than having a single landline for emergency purposes, which we have not had to use yet).
It is so cheap to use and enables you to build in so many functions, all very easily and expand and contract as required with your business.
We have used a few different systems. These have ranged from extremely easy to set up to fairly difficult. There is however so much help available one way or another on the Internet that I would have thought the answer to any problem can be readily obtained.
I would really suggest you have a look at the established main players and perhaps try the free trial on say Voipdiscount to test the quality you are likely to obtain when using VOIP, if you do not have any experience of this.
You do need a reliable broadband connection and reasonable speed. We have systems working from 6MB/s without any problems.0 -
Could you please post your recommendations here please?
That way you may help othgers in a similar situation and at the same time allow others to comment if they do not agree with your recommedations for any reason
Always nice to have a balanced view
No - I help multi-million turnover companies save money on their overheads and knowledge of key suppliers is my bread and butter. But happy to pass on on a one to one basis where someone just needs a little bit of quick help that only takes a few minutes out of my day.0 -
I remember that I signed up for the services of a small telecom company once, but that I stopped after a year because of issues that they can't solve in any way; my business was affected because of it. I then signed a contract with US Telecom, and I am currently satisfied with their services. They're based in New York, by the way.0

I have slimmed down to just a mobile now - my allowance covers most calls and I don't need to worry about the cost for others to call me
Don't know if others are aware (I wasn't!) Skype and GifGaff mobile phones both offer free calls to 0800 numbers now - useful if you are a business that has alot of teleconferences were there is a free phone number for instance0 -
I'm trying to Change from BT to other cheaper and better business landline providers while mine is still in cooling period. I'm hoping to get this sorted tomorrow.
I hardly make any calls, only for receive incoming calls. I will need caller display and divert features if possible.
Anyone would be kindly give me some advice about who should i go with please?0 -
Why do you even need a business line? They cost loads more than a standard one.0
