Yorkshire Bank

  • I started a claim for mis-sold PPI back in Aug 2008, first letter to the Yorkshire bank was replied with a sorry you signed the agreement nothing we can do.

So I started with the Ombudsman this is still ongoing, Clydesdale bank (yorkshire) seem to be using every delay tactic possible, the first offer they made me in Sept 2009 was they would give me back the interest on the PPI, I refused this and it is supposed to be going to the final Ombudsman to make a decision on my claim. I did not know but up to this point it has been an ombudsman intermediate dealing with the case as is all cases unless a satisfactory decision has been agreed.

It's looking like it will be some time in 2010 before this is settled in my favour so anyone dealing with Yorkshire bank don't expect a quick turnaround.

I hope you get it sorted out quickly and that it does not go into 2010. I think we will see a lot more redress's being offered in this way as the new proposals by the FSA (coming in Jan 2010) say that a firm can redress differently IF they knew the consumer wanted some kind of PPI but not a single premium. They are then allowed to take off the redress the amounts of what a "stand alone" premium would have cost them and wondering if yorkshire are stalling for this.

Like I say, hope you get it sorted quickly.;)
  • I have received the PPI questionnaire from YB and returned it ..will keep you posted ;)
