Has anyone who signed up for a monthly variable direct debit got a letter from British Gas saying that they have amended the payment scheme to quarterly variable direct debit?

When I phoned them up they said the letter was a mistake.

Thanks, I think I'll leave it as it is, I just put the first figure in, at least it will give me an idea. Thanks for your help.

Me got the monitor as well!.. just for those not knowing what values to set on the monitor...check the online consumption hub they have on the British gas site..It has a 'reduce your bill' feature that tells you what values you need to set on the monitor based on how much you want to save and what tariff and pricing you are currently on!

No, I haven't received a letter from BG. Should I have?

I changed from a direct debit to a variable monthly direct debit. If you don't change your payment or tariff then I guess no letter.

Don't like the monitor being mains powered.

So you would rather spend a couple of pounds on new batteries rather than a few pence for electricity? Strange:confused:

The problem with it running off the mains is that it will stop working in the event of a power cut.:rotfl:

..........and the old electrisave used to hang on the wall.

The target can be anything you like, the leaflet makes a few suggestions,

Say 11Kwh for a working couple per day.
8.5 Kwh for a single person
15Kwh for a family with two children.
( Assuming you have non electric central heating)

In what way is it not working, have you followed the set up procedure?
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • yeah we followed it as the booklet says but we cannot get any readings from the monitor

Was the initial pairing of the transmitter with the monitor successful?
have you clipped the sensor securely on the Live feed to your meter and plugged it into the transmitter.
If all else fails ring the help line 0845 076 3922
