Nokia 5800 deals
My 13 yr old daughter's interested in a Nokia 5800 for Christmas.
She currently pays just over £10 pcm on top-ups on O2 PAYG
(a slight cheat is I benefit to the tune of £5 off O2 broadband).. most of the balance is spent on textx
We can either purchase the phone outright for ~£160-£170
* either staying on O2 PAYG
* switching to 3 (due to free texts, data),
or switch to a contract. Ideally that would be no more than £20 pcm for 18 months, and would include >100 textx & some data. No-costs consideration favoured network would be vodafone due to coverage at home (although that will cost me an extra £5pcm)
ANy tariff recommendations?
Best so far is:
* 3 £20 pcm, unlimited data/text 200 mins
* CPW O2 (oh dear) £15pcm + 100 minx/unlim text. Is there a £7.50 data option?
* Vodafone £15pcm + £5pcm data, 75 mins, 250 texts,
* 3 PAYG £200 up front, 150Mb/600 texts every 3 months for £10 topup

I would avoid a contract, we often hear the sob stories of there children running up high bills £100+ a month, PAYG or a T-Mobile Solo Fixed would be the best to go for, and buy the phone outright sim free.
Consider this - http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/Pay_and_Go (Text and Web)

Solo Fixed 20Solo Fixed - enjoy peace of mind and make sure you never pay more than your monthly allowance. If your minutes and texts run out, you'll need to top up to use more - just like pay as you goAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
e2save via quidoco for cash back on three network £15 per month for 300 texts or mins. cash back will cover cost of phone plus a little off line rental. or get a re-conditioned phone for free and take the full £40 cash back off line rental. No claims to be made, 18 month contract.0

t-mobile has a sim offer on payg--topup £10 in a month and get unlimited texts and unlimited internet the next month.
you can but a sim free or payg nokia 5800 for around 150ish.
no contract, no fear of over running limits, if mostly used for texts!
ideal for a teenager.0
