Are we being greedy?

You're not being greedy! But cost and worth are two very different things! What you want for something because that is what it is worth does not mean someone will pay it. In these tricky financial times it's a game of cat and mouse! At the end of the day, you need to move, and you have a good offer as many people are still struggling to get a mortgage deal. I think you may be fortunate enough to perhaps get a couple more thousand, but you won't get near the asking price, which is nearly £10000 more than the house that sold two doors down and the market hasn't climbed that much! Just do what's right for you and your family. Explain your concerns to your husband and if he is adament, then stick with it. Why move just for the schools? Don't get me wrong, I know it is important to be in the catchment area etc but you don't want to sell yourself short. Good luck and let us know what happens! :-)

    97% isn't bad - I didn't think about it like that.
I think you have done the best thing though, not declined the offer, but not accepted.
    Good Luck.
