I also work for a company that doesn't use a voucher provider and pays direct to the CM bank account. I presume their payroll software works out the payslip and then they do a BACS run to all the childcare providers. The company I work for employ about 12,000 people in the UK, so it obviously can work for a large company as well! There is no contract between my company and the CM, the contract is between ME and the CM, the company just processes 2 payments a month (one to me, one to CM) rather than 1 and my payslip shows the deduction.

On the plus side, my CM loves loves loves it this way, as it gets deducted from my salary on the 30th of the months, the payment is cleared into his bank account by the 3rd of the following month - no vouchers, no cheques, no waiting.

The people who mind don't matter, and the people who matter don't mind
Getting married 19th August 2011 to a lovely, lovely man :-)

Glad it works for you, but unfortunately for us it is out of question.

If only it was easier - thank you very much for that info, that makes a lot of difference.

The voucher companies also provide parents and childcare providers with information through their helplines. If your company doesn't have a dedicated childcare person, then you can also make use of their expertise. I think you have made the right decision in wanting to use a provider. I will avoid paying any carer directly.
