Touch Screen Mobile Phone
My daughter has a T-Mobile contract which is due to end at the beginning of December. She has compared deals and it seems that T-Mobile have the best tariff for her when she renews. They are offering unlimited texts and 300 free talk minutes for £15 per month. At the moment she pays £20 and has a limit on her texts, which she usually goes over, so this seems like the best deal for her.
However, she really fancies one of the touch screen phones and has seen the one she wants in the T-Mobile shop (can't remember which brand it is at the moment). It is a really nice looking phone and I can understand why she really wants it. However, I have heard from so many people with touch screen phones who have said they have gone wrong within a short time of owning them. My other daughter has one that has just died too.
Can anyone advise because Ive tried to steer her away from these type of phones because of this reason but she is adamant that this is what she wants.

You'll get a years manufacturer guarantee so keep your receipt!
Touch screen phones have came along way now but still are more fragile than button types, let her get what she wants but buy a cover for it to keep it safe.0 -
If she gets a touch phone do you think we should take out some sort of warranty with it? They seem expensive though. and of course, it means that the £15 per month isn't so cheap then if you have to take something out on top.0

Mobile phones aren't cheap I'm afraid. A £15 a month contract is all very well, but add in some internet usage and handset insurance and a more realistic payout per month is £25-£30.0 -
Also, some manufacturers and providers give 24 month warranty now0
