I just got invited to an interview today, good job i didn't waste the petrol and time.
There seems to be more and more jobs like this popping up around Liverpool. I went to an interview in Warrington a couple of weeks ago which was virtually the same. The Reed job website seems to be full of them0 -
Hi,
does anyone know if this company are currently recruiting in Leicester as amm direct leicester ltd?
I have been offered an interview tomorrow with this company and i know this souns silly, but because i ahve reecntly applied for so many jobs, i cannot remember which one this intreview is for.
They rang me up yesterday and offered me to come in for an interview, when they sent the email confirmation it has come from a .btconnect.com address which has already got me supicious and then googled amm direct leicester and no company comes up.
When i aksed the girl who called what the actual job title was she just said sales and admin, so i am a little dubious. Don't think i will waste my time if this is them.
thanks0 -
Eek! Thank you for this post. I applied for one of their jobs yesterday and received an email off them almost immediately asking for me to phone for an interview. I ignored it after reading this, but then someone just phoned me. I had to say that I already had a job haha. How awkward! : )

This company advertised on the My Warrington Jobs, I applied and was invited to interview in Liverpool but my interview took place in Horton House in Exchange Square in the Regus offices.
What a load of croc it was this young man out of a mail arder catalogue must have been no older than my own son he made it out to sound fantastic I got a call later asking me back for the selection day but told them I had another job offer which i had decided to take. This is MLM (multi level marketing or the old style pyramid selling) keep clear of this company.0 -
Wish I had visited this website before going to the interview at Horton House Liverpool, sensed something wasn't quite right during the call from Danielle, the receptionist, who has a title of HR Manager on the email.
Should have followed my gut instincts and not wasted my time, or money attending this so called interview.
Found the whole set up embarrassing, there were five other people waiting to see this Kevin character for an interview, the first guy went in and was out in minutes, he looked furious, shaking his head in disgust, knew right away something just wasn't adding up
When I went in to be told about the SCAM, couldn't believe this Kevin was writing down all these figures and explaining the process of how you build up a team, ironic part about it was as he wrote it down it was obvious it was pyramid selling where the only one to benefit would be the idiots who came up with this sad excuse for what was meant to be a job.. Disgusts me that these outfits appear to be getting away with it, the job was advertised on Reed and I have informed them of the fact, looks like other people have also notified them, hope it is removed.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR EFFORT VISITING THIS JOKE OF A SO CALLED COMPANY...0 -
A lot of valid comments below similar to my experiences when I worked for Code Marketing in Liverpool for months, who go under a different name these days.
During that time I was at university and needed a summer job. I applied for a sales position at Code Marketing and the very next day was invited in for an interview. When I arrived in the building there was a number of people also there for an interview for the same position in what was clearly the latest mass recruitment from the company. The office also looked brand new and bare as if it hadn't been opened that long.
I had my interview and was given the job there and then which I found surprising but never really read anything into it. The MD Alex Pinker (there's a name to remember and to Google) informed me the role was commission based, something his company has consistently failed to mention in their misleading job advertisements. He also informed me that the company was rapidly expanding and that if I and other employees worked hard enough, we could be running our own office within a year, earning a six figure salary.
I got a good indication within a week that it was all too good to be true but kept my mouth shut and stayed over that summer to simply earn some money. During that time lots of people left and lots of people replaced those who knew it was a joke - an endless cycle of Pinker exploiting the workforce just like other companies under the same umbrella continue to do now.
I'll give you the run down on what was a typical day working for them and undoubtedly this is very similar to other scam companies involved in the same line of business -
8am sharp - You would have to be at the office. All employees gather into the same room and loud, upbeat music is played for about five minutes to get everyone into a positive mood and to block out any negativity. Then the MD would give feedback on people's performances and give news (many of it undoubtedly lies) on how the company is progressing including how other branches are doing around the company. After that the boss would assign people to wherever they were working that day.
8.45am -9am - Go to wherever you've been assigned for the day and paying out of your own pocket as well.
10am - Arrive at the field and start pitching. Have to meet daily target of ten sales otherwise you come under pressure from the MD after a while.
Late afternoon - Back at office. Brief paperwork to be completed before going home.
Interestingly Code Marketing, just like a lot of other companies, have changed their name repeatedly no doubt to avoid the attention of Trading Standards. Their offices used to be at 42 Whitechapel in the city centre but I believe Pinker now runs an office in Bold Street.0 -
Guys this company is operating under different names still!
Type in JPK advertising ltd into google and read the MSE forums that are at the top of the page!
Kevin O'neill is still failing to mention in his many job adverts that his company is a DOOR TO DOOR SALES company and only pays COMISSION! :money:0 -
Just got offered an interview with these - couldn't remember what the job was as I've applied for several in the last week, so searched for the name on Google, and this popped up. Can't say that I'm not a little disheartened, but at least I've saved myself train fare and half a day's wages from my current employer.
EDIT: Just received a call from JMS asking me to an interview also. This job search might not be too smooth after all.0 -

I would wish them well in there chosen paths but please don't blame other people (jonboy) if you did not make it in the business model that is direct advertising / marketing / sales. So many people didn't either but it seems you have yourself a great hobby on here trying to destroy Kevin's company and life. A lot of your posts are rude, contain incorrect data and insulting - to be fair I couldn't care why you left the business just wish you had a job that occupied more of your time so you didn't post on here.
Oh Kevin, Hi.
Jus to congratulate you on your marvelous managerial work with your successful company JPK...oh wait, erm KJP ... no wait what was it ?
Oh never mind eh ... at least you're earning 100k ... no 70k ... no erm 150k ..
I'm sorry it's so hard to keep up with all of your bull.
Anyway ... hope ya mum is proud of you .. because i'm sure any mother on this site who found out her spoilt and immature 23 yo son was doing what you are would kick their sorry !!!! straight out into the street.
If i have any regrets other than ever joining your company, is that i didnt punch you straight in the mouth the day i left.0 -
Knowing about the scam but i still went for an interview couple of days ago just so to experience it hahaha...!!!!!! Interview went well (5 mins max) !!!!!! I went in around 3pm, got out 3.05pm; he spent 1min on me and the rest about the company and himself. They called me back 30mins later offering me a job considering i never perpared myself pior the interview plus there are 40 candidates are awaiting (according to Kevin the Irish guy). I did a little research about this company ( go on wes site businessadvertisingltd)..., no value informations. I don't care what you do Kevin, but not paying people for their work is robbing!
Here is the current address of this company: Business Advertising Ltd, Suite 628 Horton House, Exchange Flags, Liverpool, L2 3PF, 0151 244 5598
