We are looking at 3 holidays abroad next year
* New York for my 40th in January
* Fuerteventura for a week in May
* Las Vegas for our 10th wedding anniversary in October (group of us going) [ this has been on the cards for a couple of years and we already have ~£1k each saved up from collecting £2 coins!! ]
At the start of 2013 I will be setting up SO's to absorb the extra cash. AVC, possibly Index Tracker (S&S ISA) and further cash savings. Ideally consume the same amount I have been paying into the mortgage, that way I dont have the temptation to go splurge it.......
My VW Bora is now 12 years old, 150k miles however still going strong, trying to hold on for as long as possible however will come a point when it needs replaced.

The holidays sound fab and the index tracker in a S&S ISA sounds like a great use for some of the spare cash. I pay into one of the Vanguard Lifestrategy funds which is a fund of tracking funds. The Monevator blog is a good read for passive investors0

Seen the Monevator blog a while back, thats where I got the idea of passive investing as a means of getting into the S&S ISA side of things. Have been using my cash ISA allowance over the past several years so that side is sorted.
Will have a look into Vanguard, cheers5/10/12 : Mortgage Free0 -
Good stuff. Also remember that you can convert transfer cash ISAs into S&S ISAs (but sadly not the other way)0

Been a while so I thought I would update!
Cost us ~£160 to have the standard security discharged and land registry updated via solicitor, deeds now in our possession.
Turn 40 this Sunday (13th)
Off to the Canaries for a week end of January for some sun
Will also do New York later in the year then Vegas in October.
