Which 08 number to choose for small business or use BT call divert?

Options
Hi,

I'm setting up a small business here in UK, made a website and now facing a dilemma - which phone number to advertise. Because most of the time i'm on the road, i'd need something that goes on to my mobile. Don't think advertising your mobile on website is good idea so I currently have 2 options:
- show my home phone on website and use bt divert option to redirect calls to my mobile
- use 0845 or similar service and divert to mobile.

Now, the questions is - which one is more appropriate to use and more money efficient. I know that diverting 0845 to landline most companies offer for free but calls to mobiles are up to 10p/min. However i dont really know how much does BT charges for their call divert service apart from £2.50 per month. Also heard something about skype calls but not sure if this is suitable.

If someone has an experience dealing with this please advise.

Thanks!

I'd avoid any kind of 08... number, as they are increasingly disliked for being expensive to call from some providers, particularly from mobiles.

You can get ordinary landline numbers in a very wide choice of area codes from plenty of VoIP providers, and set up a direct forward to your mobile without having the VoIP account running logged in somewhere. Examples Gradwell (I think), Localphone, Sipgate, Voipfone.

Or if you get a business contract from O2, they now offer the option of having a landline number attached to your mobile, for just a monthly fee and no per minute forwarding charges

I'd personally look at getting an 03 number, as these are normally included in bundles on mobiles and landlines, and are non geographic as well..

That's a good point if it's for someone who covers a wide area, and doesn't want a number that seems too far away for some people.

I let it slip out of my mind because I don't yet know many providers offering these, but I found a thread discussing some http://www.saynoto0870.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1244586138

But if by coincidence the OP is also at the point of considering a new mobile contract, I certainly would suggest O2's Mobile Landline again. Maybe they have 03 numbers too, I don't know ...
