That's brilliant! They must have popped to loo when the English teacher got to part where they learnt how to spell 'shipment', and also the bit where they were told that in Britain we call it postage or delivery!

Let's hope people are getting clued up now and don't fall for this.

OK, so how long before we get someone posting on here in a panic about a 'real' letter they have got and blaming paypal for being scammed?

Unfortunately It doesn't matter how obvious they seem, people will still fall for them.

    as I've just commented elsewhere...
    From: metropolitan police <metropolitan@mail.usa.com>

Oh yes, the UK police now have changed their mail address to USA?
According to (Section 1001, Title 18, U.K. Code) of the criminal law quote, which says that and i quote "Unshipped paid merchandise must be sent to a six month Imprisonment".

That's a bit harsh - sending the items to prison instead of the scammer....
    Note:88
If the shippment is not made in the next 72hrs of this message to you,we will immediately order your case permanent for proper investigation and immediately forward your full contact address to the press for publish.

Uh-oh, they'll send your address to be printed in the Daily Mirror (because they've clearly got nothing better to print.)
You are already among the Metropolitian Police most wanted Fugitives of this week for quick investigation and execution.

Executions! And all over a £5 top shop cardie.
But the only solution to remove you from the 10 most wanted fugitives is to follow the steps given to you and we assure you that you wont have any regret in making the shippment.

Wow, it doesn't take much to get onto the top ten, eh? I wonder if they'll bat an eyelid at a triple murder, or is it only ebay scammers.
The Metropolitian Police can be contacted twenty-four hours a day, every day. Here's how:

    105 Reid Promenade, Joondalup,
    6027
    United Kingdom

Oh well, I feel much safer now. Does Joondalup have a stop on the underground?
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

Advance fee fraud is sometimes referred to as “419 fraud”, 419 relating to the section of the Nigerian penal code that prohibits such activities.

  • Surely there's an untapped market selling English grammar e-books to Nigerian scammers.
