That's great news, I hope that it helps with your health probs having a great weight taken off. We had a very similar experience that helped us to be debt free and it really is such a relief.

It does make me feel nervous about backsliding tho' because it wasn't as hard work to become debt free as for some:o .

    Thankyou snoozer!!

Hopefully so, but have been like it many years on and off so not too sure on that one.

I can see your thinking there tho. It is a worry that you will slide as you havn't struggled to get there. So old habits may come into play quite quickly.

I guess it's like anything tho, you have to try and resist the temptation to slide back into your old ways and one day it will become second nature to be like that.

Well done you on getting debt free!! It must of been such a relief to get there, no matter how you did it!! :T:T

That's great news bethom, taking a sizeable chunk off your debts will feel great! And you'll still have to cut bck to clear the rest of it so less danger of it feeling like a magic solution and then sliding back.

Besides, you've obviously already got the dfw mentality as the money is going to pay off your debts, not getting spent frivolously :T :D

Oh, and hello and welcome to DFW! I've been busy and not on here much lately so haven't seen your thread until now.

Thankyou for the welcome Kathfisch!! :T

It's more the OH that has the spending streak, but I am not completely blameless in it and we are a team so the problem is for both of us to solve!!

We are trying to get it down as quick as we possibly can now as we are looking to move in the near future and get us and the kiddies into a bigger house. And we have also been in talks that once we do move there may even be the pitter patter of likkle feet again once we are settled and more comfy, and I am a bit more stable!! :j :j

Although it is good news, personally I wouldn't use it to pay off your debts!
