Generally a good taxi driver doesn't need to be let out, he makes his own way out, one way or another. Bit difficult if the traffic hasn't got a reasonable gaps between the cars but not impossible.

You should let them out, they might recognise you and return the favour!

I occasionally let them out when I'm feeling accommodating. I hate not being thanked for letting people out though, especially taxi drivers. What's the accepted method of showing your annoyance when this happens? My sister hoots and they usually then raise their hand in thanks, but I just mutter under my breath.

Don't do good deeds in expectation of getting thanked, then if you don't get thanked it makes no difference to you.

I know this is how people are supposed to behave, but in reality, when I'm driving and I let someone out and they don't thank me, I can't help but be !!!!ed off. Perhaps I need anger management.

If there is a passenger in there, let them out.

If he is on his own, no chance

Thats a good point, I might start doing that when they have passengers.

got ripped of by a taxi driver, was coming back from town after a night out... paid the fare with a £20 (was all I had), think the fare was about £6, even gave the guy the £4 change as a tip and the git repaid me by giving me two fake fivers, didnt realise til I got in the house.. was dark in the taxi and late.....

    dont like taxi drivers.

How do you know he knew they were fake? The taxi is equally dark for him, and fivers come and go pretty quickly.

Why were they fake and what did you end up doing with them?

I let taxi's out now and again, but rarely let buses out cos i can't stand being stuck behind them just to find that at the next bus stop he'll park with his backside sticking out so i can't get past.

I also despise not being thanked when i've let someone out, mainly if they're heading towards me otherwise i assume they did and i just didn't see it. It's safer that way :rotfl:

it was 2 fivers and in the light in the house they were very clearly fake. and they ended up in the bin. and one fake note i could undrstand as bad luck but two was a deliberate act. so dont like taxi drivers.
