requested & got PAC code , will o2 phone back ?

got mine sent through on the 19th and so far no call from o2 offering any deals .

i reckon i got too good a discount last time because i never got offered any discount when i tried to upgrade as my bill was always the same .

trying to call their bluff here but i'm aware i run the risk of not receiving a call.

i can't move provider because of my credit score, i'd get turned down so really need to stay with o2, might just go onto online simplicity if all fails.

do they generaly call back ?

been with them for years as far back as cellnet, but never really high bills just £25-£30

Doubt they will call you, at least not till you are within the last month.
Best option call them a few times when you are in last month seeking new cheap deal - mention what you have seen on other networks or web sites offering o2 deals.

Am I right in thinking though if you don't use your pac code your account will remain open/active.

I've never know O2 to call back - but that's just my experience.
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

Contract continues on monthly basis I think if pac code is not used. So its best to use the pac code within 30 days.

I too have never known o2 to call (which in a way is a good thing, no hard sell). I was with them for 2 years and when I renewed I phoned up myself to place myself on another 12 month deal with a phone I wanted at the time (more expensive deal as well).

Last time I 'tried' to leave, I was on a 30 day Simplicity tariff - £10 a month.

Called and asked to be converted to PAYG as I only use a few text and minutes per month.

    Went through of retentions.

They offered 18 month contract @ £10 per month with a reasonable amount of text/mins and they added £150 credit to my account! So really all I had to pay was a few quid during the last months.

Why they even did that god knows - not a big spender as you can see.

Yet a friend of mine on £35 a month always paid over due to text those TV gaming shows, went through to retentions and didn't bother trying to keep her!

So maybe it depends who you get, timings etc?
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

As others say on here, if you phone for a deal in last 30 days, you will get a better deal - they are simply not allowed or able to see what they can offer you prior to the 30 day period (thats been my experience with o2). And common sense as well to talk to them in a calm way and be polite, you will eventually get someone who gives you a decent deal.
  • im in my last month , contract is due up 9th dec.

phoned up about 7 times and had retentions about 3 times and still no joy.

i remember when they used to bend over backwards to keep you.

Well if you cannot get the deal from them - you can move to another network.

If you want to stay with them - you could port out to another network as pay and go customer.

Then enter into a new o2 contract via a web site (some cheap deal you fancy) and port your network back in.

But before doing that - have you tried using the o2 online upgrade option (you can find out what level of discount you have with them - usually its equivalent to some amount like £150 as a loyalty thing).

Nowadays most operators won't bother if you want to leave them (unless you are a heavy user).

Because of web forums, they are less likely to offer good customized deals to individuals under normal circumstances. That guy will come here and and tell everyone what deal he got. Then everyone will expect same deal.

They also read these forums. They know many people will ask PAC just to test if they can get a better deal.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.
