    i wouldn't worry about it ..

being thin is not what makes someone attractive...

its being happy and confident and taking care of yourself

why don't you have a new haircut or a spray tan or something to make yourself feel a bit better about your appearance

I lost the baby weight after all three of mine pretty quickly (3 in 3 years too :O ) but then thats breast feeding initially, then running around from dawn till dusk trying to pretend I am 'organised' and good at being mum and wife, when in all honestly, I am horribly crap at both :O god loves a trier. Oh and I love red wine too......roll on february (i suspect the weight may not leap off quite so quickly this time)

  • No bobas, but I found stress an amazing diet! I went sdown to 7st7 which at 5ft5 is faaaar too low! Maybe babysitting would add to your stress levels and aid weight loss??:D;):p
  • I managed to lose the baby weight by keeping active and not eating like a piggy.

I assume your daughter in law is much younger than you? WHy are you trying to match her? Is it a competition? Can;t you just be happy for her that she has got her figure back?

If she is anythign like me, she was fit while pregnant and genetically predisposed to popping back into shape (I've only had one though).

You sound so jealous which is not nice when it's your DiL.

Why not have a few pampering treatments done so you feel at your very best, and stop comparing yourself to her.

I have to say, it sounds to me like you are still competing with her for your son's affections, which is a bit sinister IMo.

Wow, you got all that from the OP when everyone else seems to have taken it in the jokey way it was intended? Thank god you didn't read too much into it!

That and not making the mistake of eating enough for two grown adults when you are pregnant helps.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.
  • I found that breast feeding really helped me bounce back into shape, I've still got a lovely flat stomach 13 years after my DS was born, however it probably won't be long before I can tuck my boobs into my knickers. ;)

    OMG..........
Im not jealous of her at all - it was meant in a very jokey/loveable way... never meant to be in the least bit serious. we have a wonderful relationship. I cant believe it was taken in that way at all..

Jealous don't think so. Slighty envious in an awed way maybe. As in "wow how does she do it?!" rather than "OMG I hate it that she can do it "
