Dilemma....

If the weather where you are is as glorious as it is here, I'd be off on my bike for a birthday drink at a nice country pub, then use the rest to pay off OD.
Love the idea of making a list of what you owe yourself for when you're debt free. You can plan what you can spend the rest of the £75 on. I often find that I like thinking about what I'd like to buy - often the buying and owning bit is a disappointment!
Happy birthday! Penny x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Okay, I'm going to pay it into the bank, but then buy myself a little something so that at least if they ask I can say, ' I bought this with your money'.
So £60 OFF THE OVERDRAFT, £15 FOR ME!0 -
What a good compromise! :T What are you going to buy yourself?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Happy birthday minty! :bdaycake:
Spend it on yourself! You have got to treat yourself every so often or you'll start to resent money. And as it's not come out of your pocket you won't even notice it! Go on, treat yourself. It is your birthday after all!

cash for gifts suck, id just put in my back account and it would go to day to day spending.
My personal opinion is that if a friend/relative cant be bothered to try and pick out a gift for me then they shouldnt bother. Ive been in the stupid situation where my brother gave me £20, so I just gave it back to him on his birthday twenty days later. Totally pointless.
I guess its different if its someone with money giving it to someone without any. Of course Id think differetly then...

I couldnt disagree more, money gives someone the option to make sure they buy something they like, also if everyone gives you money then you can put it all together and get something you really like which may be a little more expensive.
I can see your point about the giving and taking the same amount of money though.
Why not make people a present, anything from cookies, to furniture (if you can), that is a better compromise0 -
I think part towards the OD and a little treat is a great idea
I know I would soon fall off my narrow line if I didn't treat myself at all. Others know that once they start spending anything at all then they struggle stopping...
I really want some nose blackhead peel things and I intent to get them on 3 for 2 and use one £10 voucher from pigsback and £7 something from my boots points I have saved up for they will in effect be free
If I don't do these little treats from time to time I'd go nuts to be honest
£15 might get you a nice manicure or something you have wanted and I would say spoil yourself and enjoy it even more because you know that £60 that could have been wasted have been spent on your OD

Well I put it in the bank, and then I went out shopping with my mum but I didn't spend any of it!
She bought me a skirt and top, and when i thought about it I have received perfume, clothes, voucher for manicure, chocs, new slippers and new purse.I really don't need anything else so it's staying in the bank, then when I see something I REALLY want to buy for £15-£20 I won't feel guilty buying it...
so there's my dilemma solved!0 -
