3-mobile old contract suddenly being contacted by debt collectors?
i had a 3 mobile contract 3 years ago which i eventually cancelled due to poor service and reception. i even switched my number from 3 to t-mobile when i changed so that should validate the fact it was cancelled.
they have now contactd me saying i owe them £262 and have referred it to a dca. i called 3 and demanded some form of proof for which they sent me a load of bill front sheets stating zero usage and the line rental building up. i never recieved these (they say they were sending them to my old address but the people i was living with still live there so would have forwarded them on if thats true).
meanwhile the dca continue to send me letters saying i need to pay within 7 days or they will "take a decision" on how to progress.
how can i put a holt to this so i can dispute the debt with three without the dca "progressing" it?
thanks

Write and dispute the amount owed. Tell them it's the first you knew of the debt and ask them to hold off until the dispute is resolved.0

You should bring this up in the debt forums - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=76
First, send the DCA a prove it letter - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11570893&postcount=2Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
