Sky Online "Downgrade" Feature

Hi All

This isn't a complaint but more of a poll to find out if my opinion is fair! Basically, it involves ease of cancellation or downgrading your subscription with Sky.

They seem to make it very simple for you to add to your existing TV package, but limit the way in which you can downgrade to phonining them on a fair expensive line and I wondered if anyone or the OFT would find this practice unfair. Obviously I know why they do this, but I can't help but it's not fair!

Should they be making the downgrading of packages as easy as upgrading?

I just get the feeling that it's very un-customer-service orientated the way they don't make it simple to change your packages to their financial detriment!

Just wondered what other peoples thoughts were?!

Thanks
Dave

I agree with you....but it's business. It woudn't be good business practice if they did offer this option imo.

As a customer though, this option would be good to have.

just email customer service and tell them to downgradw sky i always do this in new year for film channels always downgraded the same day.
  • Do you have an email address for them or do you use the "contact us" forms? Only, I just used the forms and I got some chumpish auto-response telling me about the wonders of their online account management!

I just replied to it saying that it was far from helpful!

I made this point on the Say no to Sky's 0844 numbers thread.

i've been reading this and similar threads with interest.... sky is not a necessity and when we use them we agree to their t&c's and the methods of contacting them. if any of these change at anytime we are not forced to accept them and can cancel our contracts. and no before anyone says so i do not work for sky and just believe if your not happy with a service or a company dont take it up!!
