  • Warm water is all you need to wash your face. Anything else is good money after bad.

Ugh, that would not work for me, grease and dead skin build up.

My step daughter has sued nothing other since the day she was born and she has the most beautiful skin, never has had a spot, dry patch or oil slick in her life

And shes in her 20s and starts her eyeliner on Monday and just keeps adding another layer and slaps the slap on when shes out for the weekend:eek:

Yeah, why do young people wear so much make-up?? Maybe one day they'll look back and realise they didn't bloomin need it!

Th point is, that because she has never used anything other then water to clean herself with, her skin has never been stripped of the oils it needs and become dry , nor has it become oily because its been trying to replace the oils constantly stripped from it from soaps and cleansers

Read some of the threads here, form people who have stopped using cleansers on their faces and shampoos on their hair - and read how much of an improvement they have seen

Nope, still doesn't work for me! I don't believe in stripping the oils from skin but I do like to wash with more than just water.
I have recently decided that hair conditioner is a bit of a con though.
I'm just trying to reduce the use of man-made chemicals as much as possible now and use products that are as natural as possible.

i'm a product junkie both skin care and foundations ( want the perfect skin look) but am beginning to realise the more products i use the worse my skin becomes. For ever day wear i've been using a tinted moisturiser rather than a heavy foundation, i don't look so tired and my skin is improving, i'm a stay at home mum just doing the school run so don't need a full face everyday. Did try cleansing with almond oil and my skin felt lovely but after a few days i broke out in big red painful lumpy spots that never came to a head so stopped. I've now gone back to liz earl cleanse and polish at night and then just the cloth and hot water in the mornings. I'm sure fewer products are helping.

My mum does wear light makeup, usually powder and blusher, sometimes a foundation ( always no 7) and she has never ever removed her makeup with products, just a flannel and hot water. She rarely uses a moisturiser. She has the most perfect skin ever and does not look her age. She also has a few holidays each year in the sun and doesn't put any sun cream on her face once she has a nice colour she just wears a hat. Shes always on at me not to put so much on my face. I've also noticed she will only wash her hair with shampoo/conditioner once a week, she doesn't always use conditioner either, she does have highlights on her dark hair so the grey isn't so noticeable and it gets wet everyday in the shower just not washed with shampoo. She will only bath/wash in plain water too. Too me this doesn't sound very clean but she is a clean person and looks really good and yet i'm the opposite sometimes washing twice a day, washing hair everyday and using loads of products and i'm the one that looks a mess.

So you prefer to slap liquid paraffin over your face then just plain water?

By the way, do you recommend purified, distilled water - or just the chemical stuff from the tap???
