Just an update for those thinking of investing with Citibank.
You do not have to read it do you?
Someone might be grateful fior this info.
So go and moan at someone else's threads.

6 weeks ago I opened on online immediate access savings account with CITIBANK and sent them 2 cheques one drawn on my own bank for £100 and one made payable to me from the Nationwide for £11000 plus. These cheques were in the same envelope. About a week later the £100 showed up on my account online but not the £11,000. I emailed Citibank and got a pathetic reply saying we got the £100 but don't know anything about any other cheque. I then sent over a dozen e mails about this and got no response whatsoever. I did e mail a question about tax and got an instant reply. My only course of action was to cancel the Nationwide cheque for security reasons. Then I got a shock. Citibank were charging me £25 fee for a stopped cheque. They had suddenly found the missing cheque after a week and despite having 12 emails to say I had stopped this they put it through. Now they are accusing me of lying and that they got the £11,300 cheque a week after the other. So why would I send them lots of emails before they are supposed to have received it asking them where it was? They have refunded the £25 now but still will not give me an explanation. I would NOT recommend this bank to anyone.

I expect they'll be glad you're not going to recommend them to anyone you know.
