How long would you wait for 2nd class postage?

I'm pretty sure the royal mail problems are over, so considering 2nd class is 2-3 days, how long would you wait before asking for a refund? I really need this item, and it's been a week since payment...

Have they sent it out?0

In these cases, I send the seller a message nicely asking when the item was posted so you can have some idea of when it should arrive. Then you'll know when the 3 working days should have started from, that 2nd class usually takes.
Don't forget the sellers have 7 days (I think, it may have changed now) to send the item out so they may have only just posted it and it is still en-route.0 -
1st class - 2nd class recorded or standard 4 days
after 1 week i would want too know were it is (working days 7)
i send 3000-5000 parcels per year via RM most get there sooner or later LOL
As for a refund well thats debatable RM only consider lost after 15 days...!!!!!0 -

Doesnt matter what you think. Sellers have 7 days unless they stipulate less.0 -

Distance selling Reg's (that far outweigh Ebays shoddy rules) state you have an obligation to ensure that the buyer receives their goods within 30 days of placing the order. Ebay and Paypal state you should send the 'as soon as possible' after receiving payment and use 7 days as a guide. All sellers should send within the timeframe that they specify which can be anything from 1-30 busness days. However Ebay can not enforce any of this. They allow you to select 30 working days as a despatch time when DSR regs state you have to get it to the buyer within 30 days.
Ebay/Paypal can not enforce any of the despatch times and a buyer can start a dispute with paypal as soon as they have paid!
As I previously stated after a week has passed I see no harm in checking with the seller to see if/when it was sent - unless of course they have a despatch time of 30 days...in which case you should have checked before you bought if time was of the essence :rotfl:0 -
Not stated as dispatched, but I find alot of sellers don't bother marking it as dispatched.. I always forget when I'm selling stuff. I think I'll ask what;s going on, then wait a couple more days ?"People fear what they don't understand and hate what they can't conquer"0

It doesn't really matter what the law or Ebay say its the customer that counts, if they want delivery within a couple of days and expect it then if they don't get it it will affect customer satisfaction and future business. A lot of the time there are plenty of sellers who can offer next day delivery at no extra charge.Distance selling Reg's (that far outweigh Ebays shoddy rules) state you have an obligation to ensure that the buyer receives their goods within 30 days of placing the order. I couldn't agree more!!
I was just answering a 'fact' that someone stated along the lines of ....sellers have 7 days to post...this is nonsense. Ebay/Paypal state 7 days as a 'guide' but recommend 'as soon as possible'. The 'law states' 30 days hand to hand. I personally despatch within 24 hrs and very often the same day. All my auctions state 4 days despatch time though just to buy myself a little leeway for unforseen circumstances. I like to think the customers are happy to receive it earlier than they expected to;)0 -

Well RM website states that it will be delivered 2nd class in 2-3 days but I posted out an item 2nd class recorded on the 16th which has still not arrived. So it may well be that the seller has dispatched but the fault is with RM - I woud just drop them an email and see what the answer is.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
i posted an item on 9th 1st class and it was only recieved today, ordered an item 13th 2nd class and still not got it but sent a nice email checking it was posted and wont consider doing anything until end of week, Dont think RM have cleared all their backlog looking at the posts here.skintbint x
