Is any body out there having problems with outlook express? Mine seems to be hit and miss whether it launches or not. I,m running XP by the way. Any known fixes?
Just a thought.......after the KIS update caused problems,( which later they released a patch to fix) maybe this is something to do with it?

Outlook Express has now been replaced by Windows Live Mail, so it might just be worth downloading and installing that and importing your Outlook Express settings and files and removing it.0

I still use outlook express and mines is working no problem.
Could it not be a problem with the server from which oe gets your mail? When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

I had the same problem with Outlook Express, plus computer freezing when switching between users, slow loading of webpages and browsing after updating to KIS2010, there are posts and fixes on the Kaspersky forums for this problem, but TBH the only way I found a permanent fix was to remove KIS2010 and go back to KIS2009 with a clean install, it resolved all the problems and the desktop with XP is now running as fast as it alway did prior to the update.
However a laptop running Vista has had no problems running KIS2010.0 -

I went through the same but then went a step further and updated to KIS 2010 9.0.0.736 with patch "a". Now all works well apart from outlook express..........coincidence?????????0 -

That is what I did but the while the patch did help it certainly did not cure the problems, since reinstalling KIS2009 the computer is running just as fast as before with no hicups.
I think one of the problems has been that the build was rushed to be compatible with W7 and there are several bugs to be ironed out, the patch "a" was supposed to help but in reality has only resolved some of the problems, I shall keep KIS2009 on the desktop with XP until they produce a better version.0 -
This may sound obvious but if I went to Windows live would I be able to use the same e-mail address? or would I be issued with a new one? (The only I currently have is ntlworld.com)
Yes, Windows Live mail is just another email program, like OE or Windows Mail, it's not a webmail service. You can use whatever email account you already have in it. Or you could try Thunderbird (much better).
You haven't given enough info in your original post to enable anyone to assist you-for example what error messages are you getting? Does this happen when you try and open it from the desktop shorcut, or from the Start menu?
Make sure your Windows Updates are up to date also.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I get no error messages just the "hour glass" waiting icon for about ten seconds then nothing. This is when I use the shortcut, desktop or programmes menu. Sometimes it launches other times it doesn't.0
