Lakeland rock. I bought a burger press and a lot of the little greaseproof paper circles had got folded in their production and so didn't fit. They sent me a pack of 500 in the blink of an eye!

Lakeland are great... My mum used them far too many years ago to say..lol when they were Lakeland Plastics, and I have had an account with them for about 10 years,
A few years ago I ordered a traybake tray from them, it arrived a couple of days later, but the box had been mangled... and the tray was very badly dinted.. not good when you making sweets..

I phoned them to inform them that maybe they needed a wee bit more packaging... they were fab... they sent me a new tray straight away.. No questions asked.. I would recommend them anytime

Lakeland recently came top in a list of retailers based on their customer service, with a score of 78%. I've seen a lot of threads on here saying how impressed they were when they've had to return something. I guess it just goes to show that if you treat their customers right then it's brilliant for business as people will spread the word :)
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

I also had the same experience. Among other things, I ordered a laundry basket thinking that it was quite small, but when it arrived it turned out to be huuuuge. I failed to read the measurements, only went by the photo on which it looked rather small, so it was partly my fault. I was happy enough to send it back and get the refund/exchange, but they instructed me to give it to charity and refunded me on the spot. Amazing! I actually felt a bit bad about it, I hope people don't take advantage of this policy, although, I assume that Lakeland knows their market fairly well and that most people who buy from them are essentially honest.

I can only imagine what would happen if Topshop, Zara and the likes had similar policy, they would have been shut within a year due to write-offs. I mean, I saw people getting caught stealing in Poundland, for Christ sake!
High street shops, unfortunatelly, together with the honest, attract lots of dishonest people, Every time I go to Oxford Street the security people are like hawkes swooping on thieves and how many get away...

I am not suggesting that their customers are dishonest, far from that. It is more of a fact that lots of Lakeland's revenue comes from catalogue/online sales, so obviously those goods couldn't have been stolen as they have been prepaid and, as someone suggested, they are all low value items and would cost more in administration than the refund itself, not to mention the good will that this generates.

While I really like Lakeland, some things, especially the plastics, surely cost them pennies to buy and they retail at huge mark ups, so writing it off is not that bad considering they are getting a loyal customer in return.
Anyway, I am seriously digressing here. Lakeland is a fantastic business, it would be good to have more like them around and the award is well deserved. I just wish they opened a store near Central London, I would spend fortune in there...
  • I've also had a great experience with Lakeland.

I bought a super-douper laminate floor sweeper, believed all the hype about how amazing it was, well it may be if you don't have dogs.

We have a big galumphing muddy, sheddy, roll on all the furniture springer spaniel, and a slightly slimmer, younger version of the afore mentioned springer.

The super-douper laminate floor sweeper was no match for the mud these two pooches traffic in. Wrote a review on the site, they contacted me and sent me my money back, and advised to donate to charity if anyone would have it.

As it was dirty and dog mangled, I kept it, and to my shame it's got better with use still not 100% on the cleaning, but good enough in an emergency. I let Lakeland know and offered to pay again, and they said not to bother. I now feel so guilty over the whole episode I'm scared to post a negative review incase they give me my money back again and think I'm a chancer! And they wouldn't let me retract my scathing review :o
  • Similar experiences here: my set of 3 sieves started to rust and paint came off them. I'd had them about 3 years. I sent an email explaining and asking if they did ones that were dishwasher proof (I couldn't remember if these were) and they sent me a set of 3 brand new (improved) ones!

No fuss or bother. They have a store not too far from where I live and the service there is very helpful and friendly. It is a pleasure to shop there and they are not known for their low prices, are they? !!
