Another question I have is when I opened IE I got a message saying cannot find file and something to do with AOL tool bar which I uninstalled. I search around google and it's to do with the First Homepage value in regedit which was 'C:\Program files\AOL Toolbar\welcome.html'
I removed it but now I have no home page. The internet works but when I first load IE it says it cannot display a webpage. When I type an address it works but what should I put into regedit so i get a new home page?0 -
Ok I will do that now, should I back up?0
-
Just goto googles homepage and set that as the homepage (TOOLS......INTERNET OPTIONS)
Again, I cant see any need to have to backup (But again, if you feel you should to be safe then do so):idea:0 -
Thanks, I tried going into normal internet options and applying the new page it didn't work but thats the least of it really.

What should I do once the scan has finished?0 -

Hi, the dr web scan is still taking ages. I've found the recovery CD, would it be easier just to back up and do a fresh install?0
