I have a Vodaphone datacard for internet connection on my laptop. This costs me £54 a month. I don't need it anymore, and have signed up for talk talk for my landline, wanting to use broadband instead of my datacard. I don't need mobile internet access anymore. But they say earliest date I can end my datacard contract with vodaphone is January becasue I signed a contract for one year. How can I get out of this? What is the cheapest possibility? Is there any way to end a contract that is costing too much money before January? Any ideas?

If you have signed up for a yearly contract, then it is a yearly contract. The only way out will be to either settle the balance of the contract, convert the tariff to a voice tariff if you have the need, or get someone to take the contract over.
I don't know about voda but I think o2 and Orange will allow you to reduce the tariff after 6 months, so maybe you can try and get the usage allowance reduced to the minimum subscription until January.

You should be able to reduce it to the lower contract option of around £25 per month. You will still have to continue the monthly payments until January as you signed a 12 month contract. If you want to get out any earlier, you will have to pay them the total monthly amount till January. Obviously, this will become lower once you switch to the lower contract option.0

The tariff I have on my Vodafone data card is 70MB for £23.50/month. Last month this month and have just sent off request for disconnection - they want it in writing to the PO Box address on the bill.0
