Hi there,

I wonder if you can help me - my husband and I were married in April this year. We paid for our photographer on a credit card and 7 months on we still don't have our photos/albums/DVD with images. We spoke with Trading Standards who said that we should claim the money back via our credit card BUT we paid the deposit on one card and the balance in another. Which card do we claim our money back on?

Thanks for your help!

Laura

  • The card you used to make the booking, i.e. the first card.

Obviously make card company 1 aware that you used another card as well as they may decide joint liability if it was large amount...... But best to open and frank with them. Don't let them fob you off, you are protected as they have breached their own terms (I'd assume) by not supplying the photo's in the agreed (or acceptable) timeframe.

Yea good point! Before claiming any s.75 you have to speak to the company first and try and resolve it (I missed that lol)...... Only if they refuse or you reach stalemate can you pursue s.75 :D

  • Thanks everyone.

The photographer said that he has no money left and so is quitting the wedding business. He now won't return calls or emails. He actually just appeared in the Sunday Mail where another couple were complaining about the same thing and it appears there are more couples that he has done this to.

The payment was not made directly to him (as we were paying by credit card) - it was made to the company that administered his website/sent out prints that were ordered and so according to Trading Standards our complaint is with them.

    Thanks
