£6,000 includes all spending, such as rent, fuel, bills, fun and general living costs. Nothing is excluded from this £6k challenge.

Lee,
Well done on clearing £20k - you're die hard lol.... I'd love to join but considering I pay more than £1500 pm on my mortgage (plus another £220 pm on council tax) i'm in a predicament - i'd lose my house :rotfl:
That said, I reckon I may try and restrict the wifes spending to £500 per month - that in itself is challenging enough so I may have a crack at that and see how it goes

Rent £1500
Council Tax £220
Mobile Phone £200
Sky £98
Broadband £35
Petrol £400
Food £400
Gas/Electric etc £250
Me Fund £0
Wife Fund £the difference of whatever we earn! lol

Or are you still living at home?
Cheers, HG
He's living at home which is why his rent is £120 a month and has added in bills.
I've not found anyone yet in the SE and London area who pays £120 a month rent plus bills who isn't living at home.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

living at home...........the 6k doesn't sound so impressive now!0

Hmmm....well....yep...you are certainly living with parents still - at £120 per month rent.
Food - INCREDIBLY cheap....
I see no allowance for social life - which I presume features quite heavily - being young still. Well - it certainly did when I was:D
I'm trying to come in from the other end of life - ie woman of a certain age - and live on that sort of amount. In my case - my bills and Council Tax come to about £200 per month roughly (no mortgage - as thats gone:D).
I shall be watching this with interest anyways...0 -
Hi gang.
As others have indicated, I am indeed back home with the folks at the moment following a less than clean divorce. I should have made that clearer - those on the DFW would be aware of that but those here may not. My parents have kindly agreed to shelter me to effectively decrease the time taken to achieve my Master Plan.
Entertainment is low - because I don't plan to really do anything for 3 years. Or if I do, I'll save up/overdraw my "me" funds and use where needed.

Wooooo that is the second new diary I have randomly come across today, both written by people I have followed before and both cunningly disguising their new diaries on other boards ... gotcha LeeSouthEast and CONGRATULATIONS on being debt-free!
I've probably asked you this before but ... Sky+, two multirooms AND a Lovefilm subscription?? Presumably SkySports is non-negotiable, but what about the rest? Have you looked into all the millions of on-demand channels you can get on broadband, or the cost of buying DVDs second hand on Amazon? I got told about MSN player the other day, not long cancelled my TV license and just in the process of hooking up my TV to laptop.

I think unless there's a bunch of students or people in similar situations to you, there's not going to be a lot of people joining your club! £6000 a year = £500 a month.
My monthly rent is £411, and soon to be about £425. Phone bill is £30. Annual travelcard comes to almost £100 a month. That's me over the limit, and I haven't even eaten yet!0 -
