Barclaycard has told me the deal hasn't ended, so I've asked it to explain why this has happened. Will update you....

Pffffft, you would have thought that they would have made a special effort to get the answer right when Martin was asking.

P.S when were the RBS/Natwest offers changed to 'fee free for existing customers'. Was this a 'article change' or an 'offer change'?

Basically I have a £2700 debt on a Natwest card at the moment of which the 0% dosent run out until November however due to the lack of available cards that offer a no fee 0% 6 month plus period nowadays I think im going to be stuck when I get a new card in October to transfer this balance to.

    Thanks Alex
Why ignore 6 month deals???? ok, so it may be 3 months shorter than usual but there is no fee, and it IS interest free for 6 months. Have a large amount comming up from my Cap One 18 month and need some cards and have just got £8k from Norwich & Peterborough for 6 months (no fee); this will keep things ticking over for a bit. Now need to find another card (am pining my hopes on Post Office) for another £10k.

I have the BOS One card which was interest free for 12 months, just got the dreaded bill through today that next months bill will have interest if not paid off.

Would rather not do this but have never been in this situation, is there time for me to get one of these balance transfers done and if so which ones will offer me more free time without any charges/fees.

Also are there any things to watch out for, any cons.

    Thanks

gogsboy, make sure that you settle that balance by the 0% end date, NOT the statement date or you will be charged interest. DO NOT rely on the 'estimated interest' figure - it relies on so many assumptions (see the small print)

I have a bank loan and the balance remaining is approx £5400. Does anyone know of a card that would offer such a high limit?

Plenty, the issue is: is your credit history good enough for them to do so?
  • Can anyone tell me - if I make a balance transfer FROM a card - presumably it counts as a 'payment' to that card as well, so the next payment will not be due until the following month?
