Heinz Tomato Ketchup - 342g - 55p subject to availability but offer ends 31/1.

I got a few of these, then I called in to my local Co-Op and the Heinz squeezy bottle sauce is £1 for 700g so brought 2 lol.
I wont be running out for a while :D

Strangely for Morrisons, this is one offer I couldn't find and their stock levels on offers are always fairly good in my local store.

In my local they have them on the end of the crisp/nut/snacks aisle. Don't know why they would put tom sauce there, but they usually put anything at the end of any aisle.

What is on the end of the aisle bears no relation to what the aisle contains. They've got Special k on the end of the chemist aisle, typhoo tea bags and marmalade on the end of the veg aisle!

The marmalade in mine is in the meat aisle... On the end of the crisps aisle yesterday I think it was the Pepsi max - I went up and down every aisle, looked at all the ends, looked by the door and looked at the normal ketchup area but there wasn't even a reduced price tag there either and I couldn't remember what size/bottle it was either that was supposed to be on offer.

    Will have another look tomorrow...

Maybe it's like the mysterious missing tea in your store!

The tom sauce in our store was miles from the normal sauce isle, it's the small bottle 300ml normally priced around £1.40.

    Hi

Davidstow cheese 400g £1.63-think it was half price. This cheese is usually more expensive than your normal cheddar and imho is one of the better cheddar cheeses.

Also, from the fish counter-cod fillets were half price- i bought a cod fillet which was enough for me and my oh for our dinner, for £1.71. Think it was £4.70 odd a kilo.

Fresh hot cross buns 2x4pack for a £1

Thanks, that reminded me of a question I had.

I was looking at the cod yesterday. I noticed the cod fillet was around £4.70 per kilo, but they also had cod loin at £15.xx per kilo.

I didn't realise the cod fillet was half price, but even so....what is the difference?

They looked the same to me, except the loin was bigger pieces.

Does cod loin taste twice as good as cod fillet?
  • In our store the 'offer' tomato ketchup was in the same section as the rest. There was a SEL but the section was bare, so maybe their stock levels on this are not so good this time. It looks like the co-op are a better bet on this at £1 for 700g. I also think the co-op has kelloggs crunchy nut at £1 at the moment too.

The 30p potatoes are rather small..depends what you want to use them for, but I noticed they also had a bag of red potatoes 2.5kg for 80p. Slightly costlier than the 30p for 1kg, but less fiddly to peel & better if you want to use them for chips etc and still a good deal.

When do these offers finish as I will probably pop back for some cod fillet? ..there was no-one about to serve when I was last in.
As for the cod loin...this is just off the top of my head & not based on fact or any knowledgeable basis, but I think that the fillet is a longish piece which tails off and becomes thin at the end, whereas the loins are the 'top end' only, a chunkier rectangular piece, a lot 'meatier' and therefore more expensive.
