  • Thanks Gailey!

It's so reassuring to know you are not the only person in the world going through all of this.

Have only been here a few days and already feel part of the family :-)

    Hi willsmum!

Congratulations on your LBM and well done as you seem to be STEAMING ahead in getting rid of those debts. You may have to change your sign-in name to 'Thomas the Tank Engine' at this rate! ;)

Well done and keep it up. I've subscribed to your thread and I'm really looking forward to seeing how you do.

You may find online bingo and scratchcards to be another good way to generate a bit of extra income. Find the threads and have a bit of a read-up on them.

    Best of luck! :T

  • Well, I managed a NSD yesterday!! Really must sign up to the NSD challenges!

I have also joined Bingo Britain and won £33 in two days! Not sure I understand the rules all that well as I withdrew £20 yesterday and it still wouldn't let me continue playing with my bonus. I didn't however withdraw the entire account balance which I think may be the problem. I now have £9.40 in bonus for today and an account balance of £4.60. Do I need to withdraw the other £4.60 before it lets me use the bonus?? HELP!

I have pratically all of my christmas shopping done now and so I can concentrate on putting money aside to pay of debts with in January.:j Can't quite believe how excited I am about that:rotfl:!

Well, I am off to work now (think of the money.....)

    Speak to you all soon

P.S Does anyone know anything about default notices??

  • You can never get too excited at the prospect of paying debt off!! I don't know about default notices though I'm afraid. SOmeone on here will be an expert though and answer your questions in no time!
  • Well, there is good news and bad.

    Bad News

Had a bill come in today for £35.79 which I wasn't expecting . Nevermind, it is paid for now.

Overtime rates at work have been scrapped so I am going to be dropping about £20 a week. Back to the budget planner!

Have had to do my 6 monthly review with Blair, Scott and Oliver for my Halifax card and my monthly standing order is now for £32 instead of the original £26. Amazingly, this extra £4 a month will help me to pay off my bill 18 months early :j (according to them, haven't checked SOA yet)

    Good News

Rang up Scottish Power and got my bill reduced to £68 a month!! That's a whopping £52.50 a month different:j.

Have also won £35 so far on Bingo Britain - although the last couple of days have been quiet on the winning front  so hopefully I am due a few pounds soon. Isn't it amazing how gambling with someone else's money gets soooo addictive!!

I have been good with my money this week and have bought NOTHING all week. Am feeling tight and ecstatic all at the same time. A friend of mine told me I was the tightest person she knew, and she loves me for it:rotfl:!

On the DH side, I am thinking more and more about telling him about the financial situation I am in. We are getting on better at the moment than we have done for a long time and although I know that now is the best time I have had in ages to tell him, I don't want to rock the boat. It's quite nice liking the person you married:rotfl:! Don't want him to go grumpy on me again!

I still have £185 left over so I should be able to put some away for January once I have paid the £20 for my xmas works do and £100 mortgage arrears for this month. Then there is only 3 payments left on that!!!

Well, must go. Have some ironing to do and we all know how exciting that it!!

  • Please don't think I am being bah-humbug here, but I am so looking forward to Christmas being over and done with.

I am fed up of all the extra transactions on my bank statements and I am struggling to keep up with what has gone out and what still needs to

Had a good shopping day today and only spent £23!! Also, Dad gave me £20 petrol money today for doing some running around for him. Well chuffed!

Have paid my £20 for my works do so I don't have to worry about that anymore - phew!

Strangely (and very unlike me now) I seem to have "lost" £50 somewhere. I just can't tally up why there is such a different between my "running balance" and my "available" balance. Having slightly more than a mild panic about it right now!

Haven't had a go on Bingo Britain yet today, going to play tonight and see if I can win some money to replace the "lost" money. God, it's really bugging me!!! Will have to check online banking tomorrow and see if it has updated itself so I know what the hell is going on!

Hubby has told me he is going to order me some Christmas presents tonight. So far I have sent him 73 emails with things in I want. Do you think I should send him some more? :rotfl:

Well, off now to start the tea.

Good luck with the debt busting everyone!

  • Sorry, haven't had much of a chance to get online to update my diary in the last couple of days so whilst I have a few quite minutes, thought I would give you all an update.

Am seriously looking forward to Xmas being over with. I can't believe how I have managed to retrain my mind towards money and having been trying to hold onto every single penny to pay bills off with, I am getting slightly (understatment) annoyed at having to spend it all. Can't quite believe I put that, but it is true.

Have now won £89.40 on Bingo Britain which means that I have bought my husbands Xmas present for free:j. Won't be telling him that though as I am sure he will try and get something else out of me!

Three of the creditors I currently have debts with have written to me over the past week all asking for increased payments . Just when I was getting a handle of things! I have increased them all, but only by small amounts as I want my main focus come january to be my Virgin credit card. I so desperately want it to finished with. Mind you, saying that, once it has gone, it'll be onto the next!

Had a good read through some other diaries last night and got some fabulous hints and tips so thank you all for those. Also EXTREMELY tempted to join more of the challenges, but am slightly concerned that I may be expecting too much of myself. However, that being said, I am seriously considering the sealed pot challenge ready for next Christmas as it would be fab to have it all paid for in advance.

Well, I am off to go and wrap some presents (for the first time all bought for with cash and no credit in sight!!) :T

Love and good luck to you all
