t-mobile - upgrade and renewal? - longer contract

logging into tmobile i can get an upgrade phone with only 3 months
left on my contract (18mnths) will this tie me into a new contract
or do they actually give me a free phone and i could choose to
leave in feb '10?

  • yes you will get tied in to a new contract, the extra 12 / 18 / 24 months for a new contract will be added on to the end of your current one.

unless your desperate for a new phone now i wouldnt upgrade right now, wait untill after the new year, theres generally better offers on when people are tightening their belts after the xmas splurge

upgrading early will actually start your contract from the day you recieve you new phone. Better deals will be available if you wait until your final month though.

Do you really think they will give you a 'free' phone and let you go in 3 months?

the phone is not free, you pay for it in your line rental, so you will be committed to however long you agree to.

sim only deals are cheaper and/or have more minutes because the cost of the phone is not included
