Assuming that your fridge and freezer are as packed as your food cupbourds, you should have avery small shop for at least the next few weeks.

Have you looked at the threads for saving money on household cleaners? How about making your own washing powders and using very cheap shower gel as handwash?

If you suffer alot from chest infections (as I do) try cleaning windows and mirrors with just a chamos with water rather than any chemicals, much better for you, and the last thing that you need is a spray bottle of chemicals to clean the shower or bath, give stardrops a try, much cheaper and good for asthma sufferers.
If you use a lot of beans have you thought of making your own and keeping them in the freezer, doesn't take that long, and all it is, is a bag of beans cooked up, then cook them again in a couple of tins of tomatos and a couple of onions put in the slow cooker all day, then freeze in portions, same for any beans.

Tomorrow I plan to do a Frezer and Fridge inventory and hopfully this wont take me as long. One things for sure I wont be shopping this weekend only for fresh milk, bread, vegetables, fruit and probablly some sandwich fillers. gosh you don't have to spend any money on shopping for ages!!

Look forward to hearing from you with some recipe ideas and maybe some more money saving ideas.

    Cheers:beer:

LOL :rotfl: My daughter says that students would think that she has rich parents having all that in the cupboard and I haven't even done the freezer inventory yet, maybe this afternoon as I am not feeling too good this morning with my chest. Will post inventory on here once I have done it. I think I am just a compulsive food buyer, there must be something wrong with me. Thanks for putting advice against the foods on what to use them for. I made up 2 tea loaves yesterday and planning on putting another 2 in to cook today to use up all the dried fruit I have, they are cheap to produce and they use up all the left over tea you have in the pot, just had a slice with a coffee delicious.:rotfl:

Hi 415SanFran thanks for the advice on how to clean with regard to my chest. I will have a look at the cleaning thread and see what other tips I can pick up. I actually knew about the cheap shower gels and bubble baths as handwash but had forgotten it, so thanks for the reminder. With regard the bathroom cleaning I actually only use washing up liquid on all my porcelain as its great for cutting any grease and brings a lovely shine to the porcelain.

So here goes the freezer inventory just as bad as the cupboard:

1 huge pork joint (can make 3 joints out of it)
    1 whole salmon fillet
    1 packet filo pastry
    2 boxes faggots
2 packets of lean beef mince
    1 packet thin fries
    1 packet bacon lardons
    1 pack sausage meat
    1 packet prawns
    2 boxes vegetarian burgers
    1 packet quorn pieces
    1 box fish in batter
    1/2 bag mixed peppers
1/2 bag mini corn on cob
    2 packets of quorns mince
    2 tuna fish cakes
    1 bag green beans
    1 frozen korma curry
    2 packs chicken leg quarters
    1 mexican chilli bean soup
    1 box of 30 fishfingers
    2 packets beef meatballs
1 sandwich box full of home made soup from yesterday
    1 bag breaded chicken breasts
    1/2 bag chunky chips
    1 packet of peas
    1 packet bacon
    1 individual chicken breast
    1 cheese pizza
1 pack of 3 naan breads
1 packet of pork loin chops

So definitely no shopping for me hopefully for 2 weeks only for the essentials such as milk (does anyone know if milk is still a good buy at Farm Foods), bread, butter, veg, fruit, sandwich fillers, drinks for school, crisps, dog and cat food. Budgeting £30 for this little lot, although still rather expensive hopefully I can get it cheaper.

Just done a massive overhaul of everything that we have coming in and going out this month, in theory if all goes to plan should save about £500 WOW this would be amazing and will go to paying off debts. Will let you know what we (as were a family in this) achieve.

Keep the tips and suggestions coming.

Good easy idea might even make a one pot wonder in my slow cooker and then do the stuffing from the storecupboard, might also indulge in buying some cream and making up panacotta deserts that are also in cupboard, the cream will have to be at the right price though, not paying top wack for anything anymore if I can help it. I cant find that thread for the recipe you sent me earlier today to help use my beans up, could you send it me again.:T

When you say "sandwich fillers" do you mean the pots of egg/tuna/chicken fillers?
If you read the label they are really easy to make the tuna one for instance is just equal amounts of tuna mayo and sweetcorn, with a little salt and pepper. Real easy and more than half the price.
