Store cupboard challenge

Huge apologies for replying so late when you've all helped so much. Am on my mobile so a bit difficult! Sausare meatballs in hm sauce in oven and stretchy chicken at the ready. Thanks again all more when I'm logged on properly x.
Well done :T
Try making "Meatloaf Cacciatore"Slice your loaf and lay in an oven proof dish. Cover with a HM tomato and onion sauce, and cover with grated cheese. Bake until hot through and the cheese has melted.
As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing Storecupboard Challenge thread, where you'll get more suggestions, and lots of tips

Using up stuff = fab idea, AND I've bookmarked the recipe site - there are some great recipes on there. Of course I have to go buy cranberries now, so not sure if I'm defeating the purpose of the thread. :rotfl:0 -
A great thread Nuala:T:T:T
You've inspired us all! I'll have a go at a mini version too and try and use up all the odd 'bits' in the freezers but like many of you I'm a sucker for a bargain:D
I'll be reading this thread with interest - good luck to all taking part!:money:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
right - I'm off to Morrisons with a fiver to get as much as I can for the week. Really need some veg! Will post success/failure when I return!0

right, am back having spent £4.48 on enough for packed lunches. Store cupboard and freezer for the rest of the week whether OH likes it or not!0

Right, I'm here again.
I have full cupboards, full-ish freezer and rather empty fridge except for jars again. I'm looking to replace the fridge/freezer because the fridge part is not happy. It is either too warm or freezes stuff
Its nearly 8 years old and was one of the cheapest so I'm not surprised really
Anyways, to make my life easier and to take advantage of all the bargains I keep finding in Asda, I plan on replacing it with a larder style fridge & larder freezer side-by-side as I need a bigger fridge anyway. They're going to cost £386 including delivery from Argos so I plan on putting the money away each week thats left over from my grocery budget (£30 including cleaning & toiletries) into an account until I can afford to pay for another way other than my credit cardThere's only me and DD, and I'm a big fan of stews for the week in the slowcooker over winter so this should prove fairly easy to do.

A great thread. I too am a singleton with a freezer & cupboards bursting at the seams with 'bargains'.
I have been thinking of eating through as much as posssible before Christmas & seeing that I am not alone has inspired me to try my best.
Personally I put down my hoarding instincts down to my mother who never forgot WWW11 rationing.0 -
