Hi everyone, I would appreciate some ideas for some frozen sardine fillets which I bought from Farm Foods on impulse.
I have served them up just plain, but they could do with something to perk them up bit for next time.I've never bought or cooked them before so don't really know what to add. All the recipes I can find use tinned sardines.
They are a bit smelly when cooked, so don't think I'll get any more!

Thanks Tess for the suggestions and for highlighting how much stuff I have collected :rotfl:
Yes I do tend to find a really lovely recipe but then I am missing one or two ingredients so I buy them and then can't think of what to do with the remainder. I then do a search for find a recipe and find one that requires slightly different ingredients so I buy those and the cycle goes on...

Great idea about doing double and freezing. I have done it with savoury things - hence the reason why I have two leek and potato soups but with sweet things, I haven't so will get that sorted now.

  • First time I have had a go at this but thought:1) Mince can make a bolognaise bulk out with lentils, add some peas. 2)Save a portion to make pie with the puff pastry have with frozen veg. 3)Pork loin steaks with roast tatos. 4)Kippers with pasta and mixed veg/green beans. 5)smoked mackeral with wraps.6) cocktail sausages with beans on toast. 7) mushroom omlette with peppers and peas. I would have the tinned pineapple with cream as a nice dessert. good luck HTH.
